An all metal pistol, the Punisher is essentially an M1911 with modern styling. Making use of the single stack type magazine, its slender in the hand making it comfortable and the lightweight metal makes it fairly agile despite its fair amount of mass.
The metal frame and slide are powder coated to a durable, smooth black finish which manages to catch the light quite nicely without flashing any glare like silver styled metal finishes tend to. The skeleton trigger and hammer and the lengthened slide-attached compensator give it an aggressively tactical look.
The grip panels are not just ergonomic, they are really quite beautiful; a standard in grip panels that Socom Gear has come to set with their line of custom type 1911s and MEUs. This one in particular uses polymer panels with diagonal grooves and within the grooves there is a further smaller, tighter pattern of soft chevrons with staggered organic spacing giving it an almost wood-grain like inspired design. The micro texture continues down into the engraved thumb groove on the left side, positioned exactly right to make access to the magazine release button that much smoother and easier.
The rear and the front of the grip have built in panels with basic waffle grid pattern texture to put the higher torque grip surface in place for your palm and finger wrap to push that grip interface effectiveness that much more solid and clean. The weapon comes packed in a foam-lined polymer carry case which is more then durable enough to function as both a storage and transport case for this piece.
On closer inspection of the frame and slide, you can read the engraved markings; a serious CUSTOM PUNISHER .45, a cold BAPTISM BY FIRE, a cruel NO MERCY and a bone chilling READ MANUAL BEFORE USE.
